We visited family in Boulder, Colorado a few weeks back, when fall was in full swing and the leaves were glorious. We spent a good part of all five days sitting on the lawn, letting the little ones roll / scoot and walk about as the neighbors and their kids came by in Halloween costumes. I took long, solo walks in the morning just to kick about the leaves and hear a lot of crunching. I feel like fall in NYC never really hits you the way it does Upstate, or in New England, so I'm often mournful of what often feels like summer jumping straight to fall. Colorado came through though, big time.
